You may feel that now is not the right time to be investing in Buy to Let property. Everything is Doom and Gloom, Property prices are falling, Interest rates are still too high, mortgage lenders are acting tough and first time buyers are hard to find. As many have been predicting, The Bubble Has Burst!
Or has it? The property market is just like the stock market, or any other market for that matter. The major influence is still supply and demand. With an increasing population and family groups becoming smaller, the demand is still very strong and won't go away. People have to have somewhere to live and if they can't afford to buy a house or flat, the main alternative is to rent.
BUY LOW, SELL HIGH! Isn't that a basic tenet of good business? The opposite approach has never made anyone rich. So, now is a good time to buy, when the market is sluggish and fearful. Having said that, it is certainly not the time to rush in blindly. Good advice, at a time like this, is priceless.
Granted, raising a Buy to Let mortgage, finding the right property, negotiating with agents and builders can be a minefield - but not with the right advice and guidance. A recently released book, by a man who is now a multi-millionaire, is absolutely bulging with information (in 507 pages) and showing, step by step, exactly how he made his millions from property investment in a very short time.
"Money For Nothing And Your Property for Free"
This is the title of a new book on property investing by Andy Shaw. The second, updated edition is now available. Mr Shaw is an entrepreneur who has acquired over twelve million pounds worth of property within 12 months, all with "other people’s money".
This was several years ago and he now owns hundreds of buy-to-let flats and houses, all being purchased for him with the rent paid by his tenants. The book is good value for money at £20 and at 507 pages long, is an easy and entertaining read. The print is quite large and very clear and is not at all strenuous on those of us whose eyes are not quite as good as they were.
All 507 pages are not strictly about the property business, as he drifts off into sections on his friends, his family and some of his history before he got into property, in the early nineties. At this time, when he realised the enormous potential and quick returns in his method of property investing, he discontinued his former business activities, which were in manufacturing.
